Description
The adventures of a teenage superhero and his madcap band of friends as they try to balance day-to-day life with battling the forces of evil.
______________________________________________________________
Silver Anniversary issue.
This story was based on my days as a staff writer on the Arkansas Sate university Herald. On Feb 5, 1997, copy editor H. Tom Little* accused me of plagiarizing my column on the new TV ratings system from a SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE episode. Although I steadfastly remonstrated, and continue even today to maintain my innocence, it did no good. I lost my job, my friends and was ultimately forced to leave school in disgrace.
I think what hurt me the most was not the firing itself, but the fact that they weren't very honest about it. I realize there was a lot of underlying resentment on their part towards me, even if I don't fully know where it came from, when it started, or what I did to deserve it. All I know is that I deeply respected and loved these people. I worshiped The Herald staff as gods, and I was saddened to find out that they were just a bunch of petty, immoral children, who passed their days constantly bickering among themselves and flying into murderous rages at the slightest provocation. That is what I've tried to show here--somewhat exaggerated, of course, although not by much.
I first released this comic in May 2007, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of my termination. A trade paperback compiling all five chapters of the saga, as well as a look back on how my life was profoundly affected by the scandal, is due out next year.
